You just have to get your self down to The English Market. It’s been hawking its wares since 1788 and is still a treasure of the city. Rick Stein reckons it’s the best covered food market in Ireland and the UK.

Spook yourself out and take the Cork City Ghost Tour, it’s a scream (sorry). Or book yourself into a show in The Triskel Arts Centre, the 17^th century setting is worth the ticket-price alone.
